Unifor Local 6007 has a major win regarding a grievance filed concerning the taking of emergency days within the collective agreement and the Canada Labour Code.
As per the arbitration document, the arbitrator declares that Bell Canada “violated Articles 10 and 27 of the collective agreement and sections 168 and 206.6 of the Code.”
This win clarifies how and when emergency days can be taken, especially in light of the consistent lack of clarity and mixed messages from management which led to the grievance.
